As a teacher, I believe that parent and teacher relationships are crucial for student success. In my classroom, there are three different ways that I will communicate with the parents/guardians: school newsletters, parent-teacher meetings and personal letters home. News Letters School newsletters are mostly used for reminding students and parents of upcoming events, and giving them updates on school and classroom activities. Parent Teacher Meetings Personally, I believe that parent-teacher meetings are the best ways to get to know students and parents, personally. One on one conversations are great for establishing goals for the student both at home and in the classroom. These meetings will be held at least once every semester and as often as needed. Letters Home Letters home are a great way for me to inform parents on how great their students are doing in school. I will do these often, just so parents can personally see how their students are doing. The letters will only have positive updates and will most likely include a recent classroom accomplishment.
