Students are expected to follow classroom rules and treat each other and myself, as the teacher, with respect. The classroom will be run in such a way that students will feel welcomed and at home. They will be called "family", and "tribes" as well as "teams". It is expected that all students show up on time to class, everyday. The reward and disciplinary system will be present throughout the day, and students that do show signs of a constant need of disciplinary action, will constitute for a phone call and potentially a parent meeting.
Digital Citizenship
Most of the curriculum is done in class. However, there is a reading program that students will be working at home. If you do not have a way for your child to reach a computer at home, please contact me directly. Since the newer generation is very digital, I find it extremely important for students, even at their young age, to know what digital citizenship is and why it is important. Our class will go over a section of digital citizenship towards the beginning of the year. Here are the main points students will need to remember.
As a internet user, you are a digital citizen
As a digital citizen, you have the responsibility of being a good citizen
